8C soft. 6 days. Watch the ascent on "Better Than Chocolate".
After 6 days of trying to hammer out the beta and execute the moves on this 13 move climb, Paul was finally able to complete the project yesterday. He is naming it Ill Trill and giving it the grade 8C. After comparing this line to the other 8B+'s in the forest and the only other 8C, he believes this is an appropriate grade, although he says it is soft for an 8C but much harder than any of the 8B+'s.

The date of ascent: April 16 or 17, 2011.
Daniel on Ill Trill: I first tried Ill Trill a few years back with Dave when it was still a project. The weather was warm, but we could still conceive of doing the moves. After about 30 minutes of trying, I gave up to focus my attention on other boulders. In 2010, Paul Robinson established the first ascent of this long standing project. Englander Mickey Page made the first repeat of Ill Trill a couple days ago.

8B+/8C. One session
Great first day in Switzerland! Landed in Zurich earlier today and beelined it straight to Magic Wood leaving me with plenty of time to still head out to the boulders. Solving the beta puzzle took some effort, but soon enough I managed to climb Ill Trill 8B+/8C in a session! Having spent the last months tirelessly working on the Lappnor project, some days failing to even do a single move, I must say I had almost forgotten how good it feels to actually top out a boulder problem! Sun is shining and life is smiling! Good times in Swizzy and only first of many days! (And the worst picture quality in modern history) SWOOOOPP!!

When Ryuichi Murai headed to Magic Wood he was clearly on a mission. Despite the rain, he had an incredible trip, with a tick list comprising of some of the hardest boulders in the forest. As well as climbing hard, he also climbed quickly, sending most of the 8b problems after only a couple of tries. Filmmaker Mikkel Lima was there to capture all of the action alongside videographer and drone pilot Camilla Hylleberg.
